Apple to bring a big Final Cut Pro X update: multichannel audio, RED support, more!: Larry Jordan revealed that Apple has promised to release a big Final Cut Pro X update that will bring many new and noteworthy features to the suite! According to TUAW, by the end of the year, FCPX will support multichannel audio editing, dual viewers (so users could see two clips playing at the same time, perhaps to compare various sources), plug-in support for the MXF file format, and native support for files from RED cameras.
